Theresa J. M. Michel is a seasoned and exceptionally well-rounded C-level search consultant with 27 years in retained executive search in the Twin Cities and nationally. Her broad search background includes 7 years with the leading search firm worldwide - Korn/Ferry International, and 5 years at public Capella Education Company during its rapid growth phase ($250MM-$1B+), where she launched and led a game-changing internal executive search function.

Theresa’s boutique practice focuses on conducting C-suite and board searches across a broad range of industries and ownership structures, including public, private/family-owned, private-equity, and mission driven faith-based organizations.

She has successfully led hundreds of executive and board member searches for organizations spanning revenue from $7MM to $40B, and works adeptly with both close-knit leadership teams and large search committees. 

Deeply networked, Theresa is an expert in key leader and board recruitment, search process, talent and industry research, and is a tenacious, respected, and transparent search partner. She is the go-to consultant for nuanced, particularly challenging or niche searches. Valued for her strategic lens and sound counsel, she delivers results in record time. 

She earned a BA in Political Science and History from The University of St. Thomas, a JD from William Mitchell College of Law, and passed the MN Bar.
